Raytheon Appoints Robert Shanks and David Fowler to Key Legal Positions

    ARLINGTON, Va., Oct. 4, 2005 /PRNewswire/ -- Robert Shanks has been
appointed the new vice president of Legal for Raytheon's Washington Office and
vice president and general counsel, Raytheon International, Inc., succeeding
David Fowler. Fowler has been appointed the new vice president and general
counsel for Raytheon Technical Services Company LLC (RTSC), Reston, Va.,
succeeding Shanks.

    In his new position, Shanks will help drive international growth strategy
while providing international legal expertise from Raytheon's Washington
office that can be applied across the company's businesses. He will also
oversee legal operations for Raytheon Systems Limited in the U.K., Raytheon
Australia, and Raytheon Canada Limited.
    At RTSC, Fowler will help the unit achieve its strategic business
objectives by supervising the legal; environmental health and safety; and
ethics functions of the wholly owned subsidiary of Raytheon Company. RTSC
provides technical, scientific and professional services for defense, federal
and commercial customers worldwide. It has more than 9,000 employees and
annual revenues in excess of $2 billion.
    Shanks earned his bachelor's degree at Brown University in 1972 and his
juris doctor degree from the University of Virginia in 1975.
    Fowler received a bachelor's degree in engineering from the U.S. Military
Academy at West Point, N.Y., in 1974.  In 1981, he received his juris
doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.
