Hands-On Demonstrations of Windows CE, Infrared and Wireless Connectivity to
Be Featured at Booth #1341
ROSEMONT, Ill., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Zebra Technologies Corporation's
(Nasdaq: ZBRA) Eltron representatives will demonstrate hands-on, real-world
examples of portable printing applications and connectivity options at its
booth (#1341) at SCANTECH '99. This will be the first opportunity for many
show attendees to view firsthand how portable printing is gaining prominence
in today's enterprise.
Since the successful launch of the four-inch print width Eltron P2242 in
1997 and the two-inch print-width Eltron P2222 in 1998, Eltron portable
printers have been used in a variety of applications to improve efficiency and
customer service and to reduce costs. At SCANTECH, both of these printers
will be used to demonstrate current or emerging applications for portable
printers.

The following applications are among those to be demonstrated at the show:
-- Health Care Services: Utilizing the infrared (IrDA) connectivity
features of the P2222, health care
services personnel can improve scheduling and productivity as well as
achieve the highest level of
data integrity to track procedures, patient records and laboratory
tests.
-- Retail Shelf Labeling: Wireless networking compatibility enables
retail users of the P2222 to verify
and update shelf labels to reflect the most up-to-date price or product
information from the host
computer through a personal data terminal.
-- Enterprise Tracking: Using the P2242's Windows CE connectivity, users
can use corporate enterprise
data to label goods and equipment on the go. The Windows CE device
enables both the data source and
the printer to be as mobile as possible.
