NORTHBROOK, Ill., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire/ -- Gomez, Inc., the Internet Quality
Measurement Firm, recently recognized Allstate.com ( http://www.allstate.com )
for best practices relating to online auto insurance coverage selection tools.
The Allstate.com Auto Coverage Guide is an interactive tool offering valuable
information to assist consumers in the process of selecting auto insurance
coverages, limits and deductibles.
"The Auto Coverage Guide helps inform consumers so they can make a more
educated buying decision," said Rich Heneberry, Allstate assistant vice
president for Direct Distribution. "The Auto Coverage Guide is one of many
features at Allstate.com intended to give consumers a best-in-class online
experience."
Gomez research shows almost half the consumers looking online for auto
insurance coverages and pricing ultimately abandon the quote process.
Allstate built the Auto Coverage Guide to help consumers with one of the most
challenging steps in the insurance purchase process -- that of coverage,
limit, and deductible selection.
Located in the Resources & Tools section of Allstate.com, the Auto
Coverage Guide poses 12 questions that are easily answered with the click of a
mouse. The consumer's name, address and telephone are not requested.
In response to the 12-question survey, a customized report is generated
indicating mandatory coverage requirements, most popular limits and
deductibles selected by Allstate policyholders, and a possible "starting
point" for the consumer's insurance buying decision. A brief explanation of
each coverage is provided and some of the factors the consumer might consider
relevant to their insurance buying decision are highlighted.
"Research shows consumers frequently use the Internet to prepare for an
insurance purchase," said Heneberry. "The Auto Coverage Guide is designed to
provide quick and easy access to pertinent information."
The Auto Coverage Guide is available in the 21 states that are part of the
Good Hands(R) Network, an integrated network of local Allstate agencies, 1-800
call centers and the Internet channel. Those states are Ala., Ariz., Calif.,
Colo., Fla., Ga., Ill., Ind., Kan., Ky., La., Md., Mich., Miss., Mo., N.M.,
Ohio, Ore., Pa., Tenn., and Va.
