AMX Partners With InfoGenesis to Develop One-Touch Amenities Control Solution for Hotel Rooms

In-Room System Helps Generate New Revenue, Improved Guest Experience

RICHARDSON, Texas and SANTA BARBARA, Calif., Oct. 5 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/
-- AMX Corporation (Nasdaq: AMXC), a worldwide leader in advanced control
system technology, and InfoGenesis, a leading provider of technology solutions
for hospitality and foodservice, today announced they have formed a
partnership to develop a specialized control system solution for hotel rooms.
Hotels now benefit from an integrated product set from the two companies that
provides their guests with instant, one-touch access to in-room amenities and
environmental controls, while generating new revenue streams through these
special services.
From an AMX Touch Panel situated in the hotel room, guests have instant
access to a variety of services, such as room service, temperature, lighting,
concierge, valet, television, movies, and security features. AMX in-room
Touch Panels seamlessly connect with InfoGenesis' Revelation point-of-sale
(POS) solution, a technology used in the world's largest hotels and casinos to
manage all food, beverage and retail transactions. Streamlining the
integration of in-room amenities services produces a new revenue generation
tool for hotels that can provide easier access to retail offerings, such as
food and beverages, spas and other concierge services. The solution also
reduces costs associated with data entry errors and labor required for
alternative order collection methods, such as door tags and phone ordering.
"The room experience is often the leading factor that determines whether a
guest returns to a hotel. Hotels that incorporate this solution save guests
from the routines that often taint their room experiences, such as flipping
through hotel directory books, searching for the right buttons on a phone, or
accessing the television to find the services they need," said Scott Norder,
AMX Vice President of Business Development. "AMX and InfoGenesis allow hotels
to differentiate themselves by simplifying a guest's stay through
unprecedented one-touch access to any number of services and controls from an
intuitive in-room AMX Touch Panel."
"Discerning guests are looking for properties that anticipate their needs
and create an ambiance of luxurious comfort and superior service," said Brent
Christensen, Manager, Product Line Strategy, InfoGenesis. "Our partnership
with AMX provides a new opportunity for hotel and gaming customers to combine
control and retail point-of-sale operations in the room to produce increased
opportunities for revenue enhancement, operational efficiency and improved
guest satisfaction, thereby improving the bottom line."
The in-room amenities product is one of many AMX Hospitality Solutions
offered to the hotel and gaming market. AMX control systems can be found in
virtually every area of a hotel, including ballrooms and meeting rooms, event
halls, restaurants, night clubs, media control centers and outdoor pool and
spa areas. AMX provides the power to manage, monitor and control every piece
of audio/video and multimedia in any number of rooms, the flexibility to
automate and control environmental devices such as lighting, temperature and
window treatments, and the simplicity of one-touch timing control.
