ATLANTA, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- LXE Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of EMS
Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq: ELMG), today at SCANTECH '99, in Chicago, IL,
announced a joint development program with Accelent Systems Inc. to license
Accelent's SaCE and accelenCE technology as a basis for LXE's emerging line of
Windows CE-based mobile computers for supply chain automation. This
architectural platform will form the foundation of LXE's CE vertical and
horizontal handhelds, PDAs and vehicle mounted computers.

Based on the Win32 API, users of Windows CE can take advantage of existing
applications and programming resources. The Windows CE operating system
provides a stable, well-supported software platform that is becoming an
industry standard for a wide variety of hardware utilized for embedded systems
and applications. The Intel(R) StrongARM RISC processor, offers a perfect
blend of performance, flexibility and power efficiency.
Joe Chow, Vice President of Engineering for LXE comments, "We are pleased
to be working with a group of talented individuals with the degree of industry
knowledge and experience that we found at Accelent. We believe their
backgrounds and designs provide an excellent compliment to LXE's capabilities,
product vision and strategy. This relationship and the resulting
architectural platform that results from it will enable LXE to quickly field a
strong line of CE-based products in the near future."
"Accelent Systems is very pleased to help LXE make a successful
introduction of their CE architecture at SCANTECH 99," said Dr. Yung-Fu Chang,

StrongARM based accelenCE system software and SaCE hardware platform
technologies and products to LXE, we quickly enable Windows CE integration
into LXE's rugged, industrial product line. We feel the architectural basis
of Microsoft Windows CE and Intel StrongARM provides LXE with a huge
