Consumer Electronics Retailer to Grand Open
First Two Stores the Weekend of Oct. 17
KANSAS CITY, Oct. 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Ultimate Electronics, Inc.
(Nasdaq: ULTE), a leading specialty retailer of home entertainment and
consumer electronics, today announced that they plan to open two new stores in
Kansas City on Oct. 17. The stores will be located at 2251 NW Barry Road in
Kansas City, MO and at 19850 E. Jackson Drive in Independence, MO.
A third store is scheduled to open at 12010 W. 95th Street in Lenexa, KS
in November and a fourth store at 135th and Nall in Leawood, KS in late 2004.
Ultimate Electronics also plans to open a store in Bradley Fair Lifestyle
Center in Wichita, KS on Oct. 31.
"The Ultimate Electronics stores will showcase one of the most
comprehensive product offerings of consumer electronics in the Kansas City
area, including a wide selection of home theater, home audio, car audio,
portables and more," said Dave Workman, president of Ultimate Electronics.
"We aim to maintain a 'best of class' status when compared to other consumer
electronics retailers in the business. We look forward to opening our stores
in the Kansas City and Wichita markets and allowing customers to experience
more in consumer electronics."
Each Ultimate Electronics location plans to employ approximately 75
full- and part-time employees in cashier, customer service, sales and
management positions. Employees undergo extensive training to ensure that
customers who come to the stores receive the expert attention and service
necessary to make an informed purchase decision.
The company estimates that it will spend about $6 million on its initial
two stores in Kansas, each 32,000 square feet in size and featuring a broad
selection of mid- to high-end brands, including the latest in digital
technology at the 15-foot high Technology Tower in the center of the store.
Ultimate Electronics plans to showcase more leading brands with programs like
Technology of the Month, which emphasizes new technologies, and to unveil the
new "Hard Rock Sound Asylum" theme room, which will allow customers to
experience the very best in home theater sound systems available from Klipsch
Audio Technologies combined with a casual club atmosphere from Hard Rock Cafe.
"Even among online consumer electronics customers, retail is still the
most frequent place to learn about new technologies," added Workman.
"Purchasing a consumer electronics product can be a big investment, and we
want to provide an environment that allows customers to not only see new
technologies and learn about products, but to compare brands to find the best
solution for their needs."
