providers, today announced the recent appointment of David Fraser as Chief
Executive Officer. In this role, Fraser will guide the company as it emerges
from initial customer engagements to target higher growth opportunities. In
particular, Fraser will spearhead the expansion to advanced wireless platforms
that enable customers to build a diverse array of leading-edge products in
several industries, particularly consumer electronics and data networking.

Prior to joining Instant802 Networks, Fraser held several executive
positions over a 13-year career at Wind River Systems, the market leader in
embedded software. In his role as chief marketing officer he was responsible
for marketing, business development and strategic alliances and led the
expansion into Linux-based platforms. As senior vice president and general
manager of products he refreshed the entire Wind River product line while
conceiving and implementing the drive to subscription licensing and platform
packaging -- a first in the embedded industry. As vice president and general
manager of networking and consumer, he started the first business unit at Wind
River, growing this segment to 70% of Wind River's revenues. As vice
president of Engineering, Fraser introduced several award winning and industry
changing products including the WindView(TM) analysis tool and the Tornado(TM)
development system.
Previous experience, over a 20-year career, included marketing and
engineering positions at Unisys/Convergent, Hewlett-Packard and Racal
Electronics. Fraser holds a BSc (Honours) in Computing Science from Glasgow
University, Scotland.
