GREENWOOD VILLAGE, Colo., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CIBER, Inc.
(NYSE: CBR) today announced the launch of its full suite of Law and Justice

officially introducing the new solution set in Orlando, Fla. at the Gartner
Symposium/ITxpo, the IT industry's largest and most strategic conference.

"Effective data management and integrated, secure data exchange has never
been more important," said Ed Burns, CIBER's Vice President and Practice
Leader of State Government Solutions. "Historically, we've offered
traditional information technology services to local, state and federal
government, and ad hoc solutions to the criminal justice community. We
believe the time is right to integrate the criminal justice services and
solutions across the law and justice community, where our expertise is
unsurpassed."
The Law and Justice Solutions are designed specifically for district
attorneys, city attorneys, attorney generals, public defenders, law
enforcement agencies, courts and correctional facilities. "Unlike other
technology providers, these solutions have been designed by attorneys and
other individuals who have worked in the criminal justice system and have
extensive firsthand experience with the work environment and understanding of
the business processes," said Burns.
CIBER acquired staff and capabilities from Metamor, a company that has
provided IT solutions for the law and justice community for 10 years. The
acquisition is just one of several major strategic acquisitions CIBER has made
in recent years, designed to build capability in areas with significant market
demand.
CIBER's Law and Justice Solutions portfolio now includes:
-- CRIMES(TM) (Criminal Records Information Management and Exchange
System), a case records and information management system for
prosecuting attorneys
-- SCALES, a similar solution for public defenders
-- IJEX (Integrated Justice Exchange), a solution that provides
database-independent data exchange and integration
-- CAD and Records Management; Court Systems Management; Booking,
Corrections and Jail Management; and Facilities Management
"All of these solutions are designed to help agencies automate and
integrate the large volumes of case records and documents that are an inherent
part of the justice system," said Burns. "Without exception, our clients have
experienced significant improvements in productivity and document generation
throughput while at the same time protecting the confidentiality of their
data."
In some cases, such as the State of Louisiana, which is implementing the
CRIMES solution in all of its 64 parishes and for up to 1,500 end users, the
solution has also prevented the dissemination of inaccurate or incomplete
information, which could have repercussions such as the improper release of
violent offenders.
"CIBER had the level of expertise necessary to work with our diverse
requirements. This expertise, combined with CIBER's development and
implementation of the interfaces and conversions, was a major factor in
choosing this solution," said David P. Baxter, Director of Information
Systems, Louisiana District Attorney's Association. "CRIMES provides a common
case management program for district attorneys across the state and is
becoming an integral part of our state's enterprise criminal justice system."
CIBER is currently providing solutions for more than 120 state and local
government clients, including Santa Clara County, the City of Phoenix, Cook
County, Ill., and the State of Alaska, where a nomadic criminal element across
the state's large and remote geography creates a unique set of challenges.
