PICOCAL, a start-up business originating from
technology transfer activities, is the meeting's Showcase Presenter
ANN ARBOR, Mich., Oct. 7 /PRNewswire/ -- The New Enterprise Forum, the
entrepreneur's link to resources, announces the October 16, 2003 meeting
titled "How to Do Technology Business with Our Regional Universities."
Featured panelists for the program include Howard Bell, executive director of
TechTown, the research and development incubator associated with Wayne State
University and Karen Studer-Rabeler, associate director of new business
development with The University of Michigan Technology Transfer Office. Their
remarks will describe the focus, needs, and contact routes for doing business
with their organizations and mapping entrepreneur's needs to Michigan
resources.

This meeting's entrepreneur showcase presentation features PICOCAL, a
start-up venture using technology licensed from the University of Wisconsin to
develop a scanning thermal probe microscope product with a micro-electro
mechanical systems (MEMS) sensor that detects semiconductor chip defects.
Angelo Gaitas, director of business development for PICOCAL, will lead the
presentation.
The event will take place at the Holiday Inn North Campus located on
Plymouth Road at US 23 in Ann Arbor. Networking and registration begin at
5:00 p.m. with the program commencing at 5:45 p.m. New Enterprise Forum
members attend for free; the admission fee is $20 for all others.
