MCKINNEY, Texas, Oct. 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Torchmark Corporation
(NYSE: TMK) announced today that Andrew W. King, 50, has been appointed
President of its subsidiary United American Insurance Company, McKinney. At
the time of the appointment, Mr. King was President and Chief Marketing
Officer at Torchmark's Liberty National Life Insurance Company, Birmingham,
AL, a position he has held since 2006. Mr. King will retain the Liberty
National position. Mr. King first joined Torchmark at its subsidiary Globe
Life And Accident, Oklahoma City, in 1980. In 1995, he was named United
American's Senior Vice President, Branch Office.
Torchmark Corporation is a holding company specializing in life and
supplemental health insurance for "middle income" Americans marketed
through multiple distribution channels including direct response, and
