Most Competitively Priced IP Service Delivery Point Available
MENLO PARK, Calif., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Ericsson Enterprise, a leader
in voice, data and mobility solutions, today announced availability of the AXC
470 for the North American market. The AXC 470 is a high-performance dual T1
IP/IPX access router with integral CSU/DSU. It delivers tremendous capability
at an aggressive price point for enterprises, Internet service providers
(ISPs), and competitive local exchange carriers (CLECs) seeking to offer voice
service, corporate network access, and Internet access for small- to
medium-sized businesses, as well as enterprises with large distributed
campuses or multiple branch offices.
The AXC 470 has a modular architecture that protects customer investment
in network technology and integrates the functions of several devices into a
single solution designed for seamless remote configuration and management.
The ability to multiplex voice and IP onto a common T1 line provides the
flexibility to choose high quality TDM voice delivery, cost effective VoIP
technology, or both options.
"The AXC 470 is a future-proof investment that makes a lot of sense for
customers needing to ensure expansion capability and greater performance. No
other dual-T1, compression-capable, channelized product comes close to
matching the extremely competitive price for the AXC 470. As a result,
customers get access to a richer set of features than can be found in a single
T1/CSU IP router," said Steven A. Johnson, product portfolio manager, Ericsson
Enterprise.
The AXC 470 supports standards-based Wide Area Network (WAN) services,
including Frame Relay, Point-to-Point protocol (PPP), Integrated Services
Digital Network (ISDN), X.25 (CCITT and DDN) and HDLC/LAPB.
AXC 470 is a solid integrated access device (IAD) for ISPs needing to
offer voice service. With Add-Drop multiplexing capability, the AXC
470 allows for pooled access to the PSTN. Moreover, the AXC 470 meets virtual
private network (VPN), firewall/security, Internet access and private IP
network requirements for enterprise data communications access. VPN-specific
features include L2TP tunneling, IPSec, featuring MD-5, DES encryption and IKE
security and PKI.
Key features and benefits of the AXC 470 include:
-- Dual integral DS1/T1/CSU interfaces
-- Dual Autosensing 10/100 Ethernet interfaces
-- RISC CPU, 40K packets per second forwarding rate
-- AccessOS IP routing software (RIP, OSPF, BGP4)
-- Can be ordered with up to 6 DS1 interfaces
-- Express Queuing Bandwidth Management
The AXC 470 integrates with Ericsson's MD110 PBX, WS2000 iPBX, as well as
non-Ericsson PBXs. The AXC 470 is available now, and has a suggested list
price of $3,295. Call Ericsson Enterprise for regional distribution contact
information.
