ORLANDO, Fla., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- LandAmerica Financial
Group, Inc. (NYSE: LFG), a leading provider of real estate transaction
services, has named Larry Furlong Vice President - Sales for Florida. In this
role, he is responsible for the company's increased focus on strategic sales,
business development, and customer service in Florida. He will be located in
the Orlando metro area.
Throughout his sixteen years of experience in the title insurance
industry, Furlong has held a number of roles with some of the nation's largest
title insurance providers, spending the last ten years as a senior executive
with Fidelity National Title.
Furlong began his career in Chicago Title's national accounts department
and was named Rookie of the Year in 1979. Most recently, he has worked
closely with major Florida law firms and title insurance attorney/agents in
Florida's booming commercial real estate segment.

Furlong is a member of the University of Florida's Center for Real Estate
Studies Advisory Board, the National Association of Industrial and Office
Parks, the Central Florida Commercial Real Estate Society, and the Florida
Land Title Association.
He served twelve years in public office, as a Seminole County Commissioner
(1990-1994) and as Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Seminole County School
Board (1996-2004). Furlong is a past member of the East Central Florida
Regional Planning Council, the Metropolitan Planning Organization and served
two terms on the Board of Directors of the Metro Orlando Economic Development
Commission. During these years in public office Furlong helped to establish
the Commissioner's Choice Awards and the Special Senior Awards scholarship
programs which, combined, provided over $40,000 to Seminole County high school
graduates.
Currently, Furlong is a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation
for Seminole County Public Schools and was recently appointed to Seminole
County's Charter Review Committee. He is also a member of Florida Citrus
Sports Club and the Irish American Cultural Society of Central Florida. He is
one of the founders and current Treasurer of the Central Florida Ole Miss
Alumni Club.
