Parkway Properties Announces Leasing Activity

JACKSON, MS UNITED STATES
    JACKSON, Miss., Oct. 10 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Parkway Properties,
Inc. (NYSE: PKY) announced today leasing activity for the month ended
September 30, 2006.

    As of October 1, 2006, occupancy of the office portfolio was 91.0%, up
from 90.9% as of September 1, 2006. Since June 30, 2006, 93 leases were
renewed or expanded for approximately 333,000 square feet. Additionally, 41
new leases were signed totaling approximately 156,000 square feet. Not
included in occupancy are 30 leases totaling approximately 111,000 square
feet, which have been fully executed as of October 10, 2006. These leases
bring the portfolio to 91.9% leased as of October 10, 2006 as compared to
91.7% as of September 11, 2006.

size, occupancy and leasing data for aggregate ownership in each of the
following formats: "Wholly owned", "Consolidated joint ventures" and
