FREMONT, Calif., Oct. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Protein Design Labs,
Inc. (PDL) (Nasdaq: PDLI) today announced that it will conduct a live webcast
of its R&D Update presentation to the financial community. The live webcast
will begin at 8:00 a.m. Eastern time on October 15, and is expected to
conclude by 10:30 a.m. Eastern time.
Mark McDade, Chief Executive Officer, will host the PDL R&D Update and
webcast. Joining him from the company will be Steven Benner, M.D., Senior
Vice President and Chief Medical Officer, Richard Murray, Ph.D., Senior Vice
President and Chief Scientific Officer, and Glen Y. Sato, Senior Vice
President and Chief Financial Officer.
In addition, Scott Plevy, M.D., Associate Professor of Medicine, Division

discuss recently reported interim data from the Phase I dose-ranging portion
of a Phase I / II clinical trial of Nuvion(R) (visilizumab) in severe
ulcerative colitis; Eric Rowinsky, M.D., Clinical Professor of Medicine,
University of Texas Health Science Center and Senior Scientist, CTRC Institute
for Drug Development, San Antonio, Texas, will present a discussion of interim
Phase I clinical trial results for M200 (anti-alpha5beta1 integrin antibody)
in solid organ tumors; and Elliot Israel, M.D., Director of Respiratory
Therapy and Pulmonary Clinical Research, Brigham & Women's Hospital and
Associate Professor of Medicine, Harvard Medical School, will deliver a
presentation on Phase II data for Zenapax(R) (daclizumab) in moderate-to-
severe persistent asthma.
PDL will also update the clinical development plans and timelines for its
products in development, including Nuvion(R), daclizumab, HuZAF(TM)
(fontolizumab) and M200, and discuss status of several programs in
preclinical-stage development, including the F200 antibody fragment.
