YORKVILLE, Ohio, Oct. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Ohio Coatings Company hourly
employees, who are represented by the United Steelworkers, voted to ratify
a contract with the company that will run through Oct. 31, 2010. The
contract will go into effect on November 1, 2006. The vote was held on
Friday, Oct. 6. Forty-five employees at Ohio Coatings are represented by
the USW.
"We are pleased to have a fair and equitable agreement in place," said
Greg Burwell as the Unit Chairman, USW Local 1223-02.
"The contract sets a solid framework for the future growth and success
of the Company," added Jim Tennant, President of Ohio Coatings.
Ohio Coatings Company, established in 1995, and is a premier tin
coating facility jointly owned by Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation and
TCC Steel of Seoul, South Korea. The tin coated material it produces is
used in the container industry, primarily in the United States, for
sanitary food cans and general line cans including paint cans and aerosols,
along with oil filter parts.
