Corporation (NYSE: CRE) today announced that Towne Centre Technology Park IV
in San Diego has received The Office Building of the Year (TOBY) Award for
2004-2005 by the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) of San Diego.

Towne Centre Technology Park IV earned top honors in the renovation
competition. The TOBY Award program was established in 1985 to honor those
excelling in office building management. Judging is based upon an on-site
building tour and inspection that includes scoring in the following
categories: building standards, community impact, tenant-employee relations,
energy management, systems and procedures, building accessibility, emergency
evacuation procedures, training for building personnel and physical
attributes.
Originally built in 1989 and purchased by CarrAmerica in 1998, Towne
Centre Technology Park IV is located on Towne Center Drive in the submarket of
University Towne Center. CarrAmerica converted the 105,358 square foot,
three-story building from a research and development lab facility to a Class A
office building, while creating a sophisticated corporate campus environment
linking three additional office buildings developed by CarrAmerica from 1997
to 1998. This was accomplished through the use of state-of-the-art exterior
finishes on the Towne Centre Technology Park IV building that complement those
of the three CarrAmerica-developed buildings and the addition of mini parks
and enhanced landscaping. The exterior was updated with a new Exterior
Insulation Finish System skin -- which was installed directly over the
existing brick veneer -- high performance glass, recessed overhangs, and new
cornice moldings and stone accents. Additionally, the interior renovations
included the fire and life safety system, mechanical and EMS control systems,
as well as the elevators and 12 restrooms.
