Raytheon Establishes Logistics Partnership with Warner Robins Air Logistics Center for JCA

EL SEGUNDO, Calif., Oct. 13, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company
(NYSE: RTN) has established a strategic partnership agreement with the Air
Force's Warner Robins Air Logistics Center in Georgia to work together on a
logistics approach to the Joint Cargo Aircraft program.
Raytheon is leading a team that is offering the C-295 produced by EADS
CASA North America to support combat operations of the U.S. Army and Air
Force. The C-295 is combat-proven by coalition partners around the world
and is certified by the Federal Aviation Administration.
"This agreement is part of Raytheon's strategy to build logistics
partnerships with the Army and the Air Force," said Jim Hvizd, vice
president for the Joint Cargo Aircraft team. "This agreement will allow us
to work in partnership to develop logistics approaches to satisfy both
mission requirements and assist the Air Force in developing an organic
logistics and support capability for the aircraft system."
The strategic agreement is the second of four that Raytheon expects to
sign with the Army and Air Force during the coming weeks. The agreement
with Warner Robins follows one Raytheon signed last month with Letterkenny
Army Depot in Pennsylvania.
Under the agreement, Raytheon would work with Warner Robins to help
support the Air Force's goal of developing an organic logistics support
capability for the service's portion of the fleet if Raytheon is selected
to provide the aircraft.
Raytheon supports military aircraft with a worldwide operations and
logistics network. Support personnel are stationed at locations in more
than 30 countries. Should it win the program, Raytheon will use that
network to support aircraft operations and logistics.
The C-295 has the highest operational availability in its class and
provides the lowest cost of ownership. The mission capability rating of the
aircraft exceeds the requirement of the program as well as the reliability
rating of its competitors. Reliability, availability and maintainability
are based on more than 850,000 military mission flight hours.
Raytheon Company, with 2005 sales of $21.9 billion, is an industry
leader in defense and government electronics, space, information
technology, technical services, and business and special mission aircraft.
With headquarters in Waltham, Mass., Raytheon employs 80,000 people
worldwide.
