Inc. (NYSE: FDO) announced the promotion of Elizabeth M. Austin to Vice
President - Information Technology Operations, according to a statement by R.
James Kelly, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer.
Ms. Austin has been with Family Dollar's Information Technology Department
since October 1998, most recently in the role of Divisional Vice President -
Information Technology Operations.
In making the announcement, Mr. Kelly stated that: "During Elizabeth's
employment with Family Dollar she has been instrumental in the growth and
leverage of the Information Technology Department and has had involvement with
all major projects including implementation of our new Human Resources and
Financial systems and all phases of implementation of our new Merchandising
system. Elizabeth also has played a key role in the upgrade of our hardware
infrastructure. In her new role, Elizabeth will continue to support all store
information technology, distribution center and corporate production
environments."
