Annette Murphy Named Senior Vice President Customer Services

RENO, Nev., Oct. 14 /PRNewswire/ -- Reno Air, Inc.
(Nasdaq: RENO; PCX: RNO) has promoted Annette Murphy to senior vice president
customer services. Ms. Murphy was previously vice president customer
services.
Reno Air's Inflight Services will now report to Murphy. She already has
responsibility for Reservations, QQuick Escapes (Reno Air's vacation package
department), Stations and Catering. Ms. Murphy now has under her direction
1,700 employees, or about 75% of Reno Air's work force, and she will manage a
large portion of the airline's annual budget.
Annette Murphy joined Reno Air on March 3, 1997. Her 30 years of airline
experience in various customer service management positions was evident as she
immediately went to work to improve customer service and reservation sales
throughout Reno Air's system. She recently completed a survey of employees in
reservations and at the airports to better understand their perceptions of
Reno Air, and she implemented an employee "roundtable" program to give
employees a direct link to upper management.
"We are impressed with Annette's approach to customer service," said Reno
Air President and CEO Robert Reding. "With Annette's guidance and leadership,
our customer service will become the standard of excellence other airlines
admire. Annette has made a significant difference in a short amount of time
by working personally with our frontline employees," Reding said.
Ms. Murphy has been honored by the Southern California American Society of
Travel Agents, and she was named "Woman of the Year" by the San Francisco
Women in Travel Organization. Ms. Murphy was also recently named one of "The
200 Most Powerful Women in Travel" by Travel Agent magazine.
Reno Air currently serves 24 cities with approximately 200 daily scheduled
departures. The carrier's fleet of 30 McDonnell Douglas MD-80 and MD-90
series jets has an average age of less than seven years, one of the youngest
all-jet fleets in the industry. Reno Air offers everyday low fares, advance
seat assignments, domestic and international frequent flyer programs, a
spacious first class cabin, "EZtrip" ticketless travel, and full participation
in all major computer reservation systems.
