PITTSBURGH, Oct. 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Work on the Fort Pitt Bridge
Reconstruction Project will be completed by tomorrow, one month ahead of
schedule, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation announced today.
PennDOT spokesman Dick Skrinjar credited the planning of Brayman
Construction officials with the early finish. Brayman's crew worked 12-hour
days and almost every weekend since July to complete the project ahead of
schedule. The crew also worked 10 hours a day, six days a week from May
through mid-July, Skrinjar noted.
No work is scheduled for the Fort Pitt Bridge in 2001 to allow for smooth
operations for the opening of the new Pirates and Steelers stadiums.
