Champion Enterprises, Inc. (NYSE: CHB), the nation's leading housing
manufacturer, today announced that Phyllis A. Knight has been appointed
Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer effective immediately.
Ms. Knight replaces Anthony S. Cleberg who resigned to pursue other interests.
Since 1994 Ms. Knight has served in various executive positions with
Conseco Finance Corp. and most recently was President of its Mortgage Services
Division. Prior to that, for many years she held the position of Senior Vice
President and Treasurer. Previous to Conseco Finance, Ms. Knight, a CPA,
worked for nine years with KPMG Peat Marwick. She is a graduate of Michigan
State University.
