of the Network Routing Directory, a core IP registry and HSS platform that
will enable service providers to respond to customer demands for advanced
IP-based offerings. VeriSign's Network Routing Directory manages the core
network data -- housing addresses and subscriber- and service-location
profiles -- that fuels more efficient network routing and accelerates the
introduction of advanced IP-based offerings. Built upon VeriSign's ATLAS
(Advanced Transaction Lookup and Signaling) platform, the Network Routing
Directory provides reliable access to mission-critical network-routing and
subscriber-location data.
The VeriSign Network Routing Directory provides a flexible multimedia
session control platform that service providers can layer upon their existing
network infrastructure, helping to lower and control costs through
centralization. By establishing a common multi-service registry, the service
enables the integration of multimedia and telephone services within a highly
scalable, highly available network environment. Service providers implementing
VeriSign's Network Routing Directory will also benefit from the following:

VeriSign developed the Network Routing Directory service in response to
wireless and wireline carrier convergence within the 3GPP IP Multimedia

that can be superimposed onto an existing network. VeriSign's Network Routing
Directory supports the ENUM (Enhanced Telephone Number Mapping) protocol, SIP
(Session Initiation Protocol), and SS7 (Signaling System #7), thus providing
access to key directory components for route optimization, rules and policy

several tiers of routing and directory for VoIP (inter-carrier, intra-carrier,
application location, and priority), and several tiers of subscriber
