FWD Communications Announces Port-of-Call and Global Port-of-Call Powered by LibreTel

Phone services allow you to buy a local telephone number in England, Israel,
and other worldwide locations and have the call ring at your home or office
                           thousands of miles away

    BOSTON, Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Fall 2004 VON Conference & Expo, Booth
#1206, FWD Communications, a newly formed company that strives to change the
way people communicate through innovative IP communications technologies,
today announced the launch of two new services, Port-of-Call(TM) and Global
Port-of-Call(TM). Both services are available from FWD Communication's
subsidiary LibreTel(TM) and enable customers to purchase phone numbers
virtually anywhere in the world. Calls to those numbers are seamlessly routed
to a VoIP, PSTN or mobile phone of your choosing.

Port-of-Call: Routing a Number in Another Country to your Broadband IP
     Phone
Port-of-Call enables anyone with a SIP-based broadband IP phone to
purchase telephone numbers in various cities that are forwarded anywhere in
the world. Telephone numbers are available for $6 to $12 per month, depending
on the country. The phone numbers are for incoming calls only, so there are
no other costs associated with this service.
"This service is great for the global Expat consumer and business
community," said Jim Toga, Chief Operating Officer of FWD Communications.
"For example, if you are from London and living in New York, you can now give
your friends a local London number to call which will reach you in New York.
If you're a businessman in Estonia who wants a U.S. 'presence,' you can give
out a New York City number for your customers to call. The possibilities and
combinations of what you can do with this service are limitless."
Port-of-Call enables users to have a local presence anywhere in the world
where they can get broadband Internet access. Anyone with a PC running
Windows(R) XP can start receiving inbound phone calls within minutes of
signing up for the Port-of-Call service. Local numbers are currently
available from England (Birmingham, London, Manchester), Israel (Jerusalem),
Northern Ireland (Belfast), Scotland (Edinburgh/Glasgow), Wales (Cardiff), and
the Eastern U.S. (Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New
Jersey, New York, Virginia, Washington D.C.). Additional numbers from all
over the world are being added week by week.

Global Port-of-Call: Routing a Local Call in Another Country to your
     Landline
Global Port-of-Call is a similar service that eliminates the need to own a
broadband IP phone. Instead, Global Port-of-Call offers the ability to route
"local" numbers that you've purchased to just about any 'regular' (PSTN and
mobile) telephone number in the world. Like Port-of-Call, local numbers are
currently available from six countries and will route incoming calls to
whatever country you're in.
The monthly fees associated with this service are based on the expected
volume of inbound minutes. The basic fee of $24.95 per month covers up to 500
inbound minutes a month to a number of destinations, currently including:
Argentina, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Czech Republic,
Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Ireland, Israel, Italy, Japan,
Malaysia, New Zealand, Norway, Peru, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, South Korea,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, United Kingdom, and the USA.
