Raytheon Awarded $26.7 Million Life Cycle Engineering and Support Contract Modification for LPD 17

    TEWKSBURY, Mass., Oct. 18, 2006 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE:
RTN) has been awarded a $26.7 million contract modification from Naval Sea
Systems Command exercising an option for life cycle engineering and support
on the LPD 17 class, the U.S. Navy's next generation of amphibious warfare
ships.
    "This contract reinforces Raytheon's commitment as a full service
provider to our U.S. Navy customer," said Dan Martin, vice president of
Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems' Maritime Mission Systems. "Through our
partnership with the U.S Navy, we continue to provide affordable and
reliable solutions for the LPD 17 class to support the missions of our
warfighters."
    Raytheon is a prime contractor for life cycle engineering and support
for electronic systems on the LPD 17 ship class. Under this contract,
Raytheon will establish integrated support services for sustainment of the
complete shipboard mission systems suite that the company delivers to this
class of ships.
    Work will be performed at Raytheon's Expeditionary Warfare Center in
San Diego, Calif., as well as Norfolk, Va., and Pascagoula, Miss.
    Based in Tewksbury, Mass., Integrated Defense Systems is Raytheon's
leader in Joint Battlespace Integration providing affordable, integrated
solutions to a strong international and domestic customer base, including
the U.S. Missile Defense Agency and the U.S. Armed Forces and the
Department of Homeland Security.
