PTC Announces Channel Advantage Reseller Program: VARs to Sell Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire & Windchill Solutions

New Channel Program Spurs 2D to 3D Migration in SMB Marketplace

NEEDHAM, Mass., Oct. 20 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- PTC (Nasdaq: PMTC), the
product development company(TM), today announced its new Channel Advantage
Reseller program. The program, which is aimed at qualifying value added
resellers (VARs) to sell both Pro/ENGINEER(R) Wildfire(TM) and, PTC
Windchill(R) solutions, introduces PTC's Product Development System to its
reseller channel. The program has already attracted both early participants
and VARS that previously marketed products from PTC's competitors.
"Key elements of the new program, which was developed with extensive input
from our resellers, include a new dedicated demand-generation marketing group,
dedicated PTC technical support staff, accelerated VAR training, and enhanced
certification," said Robert Kocis, senior vice president of PTC's worldwide
Channel Sales and Operations.
"Our Pro/ENGINEER Wildfire and Windchill solutions are channel-ready and
ideal for small and medium-sized (SMB) markets," notes Kocis. "These solutions
are modular, scalable, aggressively priced and high value, hitting the sweet
spot in the SMB market. We are turning up the heat on the competition, and
driving the 2D to 3D marketplace. In fact, we are already attracting and
signing up SolidWorks(R), Solid Edge(R) and AutoCAD(R) VARs with our complete
line of MCAD solutions."
PTC Channel Advantage Resellers are authorized to sell a broad range of
PTC solutions, including Pro/ENGINEER core and extended design products for
conceptual and detailed design, production, routed systems, simulation and
visualization offerings, as well as Pro/INTRALINK(R). For the first time,
certified partners can now also sell Windchill(R) PDMLink(TM) and Windchill(R)
ProjectLink(TM), in effect providing PTC's comprehensive Product Development
System to their customers.
Program membership in the United States is offered at three levels --
Platinum, Gold, and Silver -- allowing partners to select the level best
suited to their business. VARs can easily enter at one level and grow into
the upper tiers. Worldwide, the Channel Advantage Reseller Program provides
localized membership options that vary by country.
Mensch und Maschine Software AG, a key new European distributor, and
numerous resellers have joined the new program in recent months, including
Mallett Technology, Inc. in the United States and Otsuka Shokai in Japan.
"Our new Channel Advantage Reseller Program gives VARs the ability to be
full-service, single-point-of-contact providers for small and medium-size
companies," said Paul Cunningham, PTC Executive Vice President of worldwide
sales. "With the successful launch of the program, I'm excited about the great
opportunities that PTC and its partners have in bringing our Product
Development System into this important market."
With aggressive discounts and incremental revenue generated from training and
consulting services, certified PTC VARs are ideally positioned to compete for
the estimated market of $126 million in annual software revenues from users
migrating from 2D to 3D solutions.
