LEXINGTON, Mass., Oct. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company (NYSE: RTN) has
appointed James Fetig, 53, vice president of media relations for the company,
effective immediately. In this role, he will serve as the chief spokesperson
on all corporate matters and will coordinate all media relations activity
across the company's commercial and government and defense businesses.
Fetig will report to Phyllis Piano, Raytheon's vice president of corporate
affairs and communications. He replaces David Polk, who has been appointed to
lead communications for Raytheon's Integrated Defense Systems business.
Most recently, Fetig was vice president of public relations for Lockheed
Martin Corporation, where he served as chief spokesperson and was responsible
for financial and trade media relations, issues and crisis management and
public relations activities across the corporation. Prior to Lockheed Martin,
he worked at the White House as director of public affairs for the National
Security Council.
Fetig, a retired U.S. Army Colonel, also was director of public affairs
for the U.S. Southern Command in Panama, a special assistant to the chief of
staff of the U.S. Army, and director of media strategy and leadership support
for the U.S. Army.
