"Dan Rather Reports On Politics: Election Night 2008" will kick off at
7:00 p.m. ET in front of a live audience.
"I'm very excited about this live broadcast," said Dan Rather, host and
managing editor of the Emmy Award winning "Dan Rather Reports." "This
coverage will be different than what the mainstream media will be offering.
We'll go beyond the numbers and soundbites to discuss the projections for
the evening and what the results will mean."
Rather will be joined on the broadcast by veteran campaign strategists
Donald Fowler, Jr. and Todd Harris. Over the last fifteen years, Donald
Fowler, Jr. has served as a senior policy advisor in Silicon Valley and
worked on five presidential campaigns including those of Bill Clinton, Al
Gore and John Kerry.
Todd Harris has been called "one of the brightest young minds in
politics today" and "a spinner extraordinaire." He's worked as a strategist
and spokesman for John McCain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jeb Bush and Fred
Thompson.
Rather will also be joined by Nate Silver, political analyst and
creator of the blog FiveThirtyEight.com. Silver has quickly become an
essential voice in the political world, thanks to his new methods of
evaluating polling data to predict the outcome of these crucial elections.
Dan Rather and his team of analysts will be joined by additional guests
throughout the evening -- each bringing a unique perspective to these
elections.
Those guests include Terry Nelson, who was Political Director for
Bush/Cheney 2004 and the first of John McCain's Campaign Managers in 2008;
Dahlia Lithwick, who is the Senior Editor of Slate Magazine; and George
LeMieux, who served as Chief of Staff to Florida Governor Charlie Crist and
who also writes "The LeMieux Report," analyzing key business and political
issues in Florida. Also joining the broadcast is Drew Westin, political
psychologist and author of "The Political Brain," who studies they way
voters make decisions.
This coverage of the 2008 Presidential Election will be the last in a
series of special reports from the 2008 campaign trail. "Dan Rather Reports
On Politics" has traveled the country, bringing viewers political campaign
news and information from a different perspective.
"Dan Rather Reports on Politics: Election Night 2008" will premiere
live on HDNet on Tuesday, November 4 at 7:00 p.m. ET.
