WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company has appointed retired
Rear Admiral Robert C. (Bob) Chaplin Vice President Raytheon International,
Inc. Japan. Based in Tokyo, Chaplin will be responsible for customer
relations and business development in this key Raytheon market.

Recently retired from the U.S. Navy with more than 33 years service,
Chaplin's last assignment was Commander of U.S. Naval Forces Japan. As such,
he commanded all six U.S. naval bases in Japan and Diego Garcia and filled key
diplomatic and leadership roles in U.S.-Japan security alliance affairs. His
previous assignments included Superintendent of the Naval Postgraduate School
in Monterey, Calif.; Commander of the U.S. Navy's amphibious forces in the
Western Pacific and Indian Ocean, and numerous operational command tours at
sea and ashore.
Chaplin was born in Fort Knox, Ky., and was graduated from Fort Knox High
School. He attended the United States Naval Academy where he received his
commission and bachelor of science degree in 1970. He earned a master's
degree in Computer Systems Management from the Naval Postgraduate School.
