RENO, Nev., Oct. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Reno Air, Inc. [(Nasdaq: RENO),
(PCX: RNO)] today announced it has expanded its codeshare agreement with
American Eagle carrier Wings West Airlines, Inc.
The new agreement became effective Oct. 20, 1997 and adds six cities to
the already existing Reno Air and American Eagle codeshare. The new cities
now include Albuquerque, Chicago, Colorado Springs, Denver, Detroit and
Oklahoma City.
"Our West Coast passengers will benefit from convenient schedules and
seamless travel to six additional Reno Air destinations not part of the
original codeshare agreement," said Reno Air's Vice President of Marketing and
Sales, Steve Sarner. "This expansion is part of our long-term strategy of
broadening our present codeshare agreements and building global alliances to
international destinations."
The codeshare agreement enables travelers to make reservations with either
Reno Air or a travel agent to or from the Wings West destinations of
Bakersfield, Carlsbad, Fresno, Las Vegas, Monterey, Palm Springs, San Diego,
San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara. All flights on Wings West Airlines to and
from these cities carry the Reno Air "QQ" designator code.
Reno Air currently serves 24 cities with 208 peak daily scheduled
departures. The carrier's fleet of 30 MD-80 and MD-90 series jets has an
average age of less than seven years, one of the youngest all-jet fleets in
the industry. Reno Air offers everyday low fares, advance seat assignments,
domestic and international frequent flyer programs, a spacious first class
cabin, "EZtrip" ticketless travel and full participation in all major computer
reservation systems.
