GVExpo Law Enforcement Conference Track to be Presented by LEVA, December 1 at
the Washington DC Convention Center.
NEW YORK, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- The usage of video for security,
forensics, evidentiary gathering and surveillance had been given much
attention due recent world events. Three sessions at the upcoming Government
Video & Technology Expo (GVExpo) conference will focus on the acquisition,
management and usage of video in law enforcement and government agencies.
Featuring experts from the worlds of forensic video, security and
surveillance, the three session comprise the December 1 Law Enforcement Track
of the Government Video Conference and are being presented by the Law
Enforcement and Emergency Services Video Association (LEVA) at GVExpo. In
addition, the GVExpo Keynote Address, "In-Car Dilemma" will be presented by
Mike Fergus, of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and
technical coordinator for LEVA.
Now in its eighth year, CMP Media's GVExpo is the premier government
video, broadcast, AV, and multimedia event, and is sponsored by
GovernmentVideo and Videography magazines. The three-day event includes a show
floor featuring more than 300 exhibitors; free educational sessions and hands-
on demonstrations in the Tech Focus Forum; the Digital Signage Zone; the
Collaborative Communications Solutions Center; a Silent Auction benefiting
armed forces and Hurricane Katrina charities, and two separate conferences,
the GovernmentVideo Conference Program and DigitalMediaDC (DMDC). Admission to
the GVExpo exhibit hall and in-hall educational sessions including the Keynote
Address and Tech Focus Forum is free for registered attendees. The two
conference programs require separate registration.
The LEVA December 1, Law Enforcement Track will feature:

video expert and owner of Resolution Video, explores the current
workings of cell phones and discusses the forensic options of evidence
recovery and video processing.
-- Managing Video for Intelligence and Homeland Security Operations -
12:30 p.m.: Internationally renowned forensic video expert Grant
Fredericks, manager of Avid Technology's Public Safety Video
Solutions, will demonstrate a method and means to control the chaos of
managing a staggering amount of video. In addition, he will discuss

scenes of interest.
-- Video and Audio Processing for Field Operatives - 2:30 p.m.: Steve
Goodridge, senior engineer with Signalscape, will teach attendees how
to bring amazing clarity to audio and video and answer the key
questions facing law enforcement officials when gathering video and
audio surveillance, including: Have they received recognizable and
intelligible evidence, and is it possible to clarify the evidence they
are receiving immediately or in real time?
Mike Fergus, of the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP)
and the Law Enforcement and Emergency Services Association (LEVA) will present
the Keynote Address, November 30 at 10:30 a.m. For law enforcement agencies,
digital In-car video cameras offer a number of unique advantages, but the
image quality can be questionable and management of digital files can be a
formidable challenge. The dilemma many face in evaluating analog vs. digital
tools for video surveillance is the topic of Mr. Fergus' Keynote Address.
