Mercury Insurance Group Is Already Helping Southern California Wildfire Victims

Mercury Insurance Group Toll-Free Claims Hotline: (888) 313-6372

SAN DIEGO, Oct. 24 /PRNewswire/ -- Mercury Insurance Group has deployed
claims teams throughout Southern California to assist its policyholders
affected by the wildfires as they initiate the claims process.
"We are committed to supporting our policyholders as they cope with
these devastating fires," said Senior Vice President of Claims, Joanna
Moore. "Mercury has mobile claims teams already onsite in the impacted
areas of California where public safety officials have allowed access. And
we will quickly deploy additional resources to service policyholders in
other impacted areas as soon as these areas are accessible."
Mercury policyholders who experience a loss can contact Mercury through
the company's toll free claims number at (888) 313-6372, or they can
contact their agent.
Once the claim has been reported, our claims team will work with
policyholders to get them back on their feet and begin the rebuilding
process. Mercury policyholders can expect the following when they report a
claim:
    1. Contact from the claims representative within 24 hours of reporting.
    2. Detailed discussion of policy benefits.
    3. A timeline so that policyholders will know what to expect and when.
    4. Immediate disbursement of funds to cover initial living expenses, such
as hotel or apartment rental, food, clothing, and other necessities
while the insured's home is uninhabitable. Additional funds will be
made available to cover long term displacement should the need arise.
Additionally, Mercury may also provide up to two weeks of living
expenses for those policyholders who may have had to evacuate their homes,
but suffered no losses.
"We understand that this is a very traumatic time for many of our
policyholders and we want them to know that Mercury will be here to help
them in their time of need," says San Diego Senior Divisional Claims
Manager, Randy Petro. "When families have to evacuate their homes it causes
a great deal of stress and uncertainty. And even though they may not suffer
any losses, it's still a very disconcerting experience and we want to
provide our policyholders with the support they need to help them get
through this difficult time."
