American Chartered Bank Offers Customers Expanded Non-Surcharge ATM Access Through Cash Station(R) Alliance

Community bank joins 19 others in forming AGREE(SM) Alliance

SCHAUMBURG, Ill., April 21 /PRNewswire/ -- American Chartered Bank (ACB),
one of Chicagoland's premier commercial banks serving small and medium-size
privately held businesses, today announced its customers now have
surcharge-free access to some 68 participating ATMs throughout the suburbs.
ACB is one of the original and largest of the 20 charter financial
institutions comprising the new AGREE Alliance which provides one another's
cardholders with surcharge-free ATM access.
"We have always been opposed to surcharges of any kind. At the same time,
our customers were always surcharged for using non-ACB machines which didn't
strike us as equitable," said Michael Smith, American Chartered Bank's senior
vice president of retail and private banking. "We joined the AGREE Alliance
in response to the changing needs of our customers. Overnight we have
expanded significantly the geographic scope of our ability to offer our
customers greater access to non-surcharging machines."
ATMs that participate in AGREE will carry signage indicating their
surcharge-free access to cardholders of American Chartered Bank.
