Denise Fierro Collins Named Associate Publisher for New York Magazine

          Top Exec from Marie Claire and Internal Talent to Fill Two
                 Newly-Created Ad Sales Leadership Positions

    NEW YORK, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- New York Magazine publisher Larry
Burstein today announced that he has created two new ad sales management
positions for which he has hired and promoted top talent in the industry.
Denise Fierro Collins, formerly associate publisher for Marie Claire, will
start on Monday, November 8 as associate publisher for New York Magazine. And
Leslie Farrand, formerly director of fashion and beauty advertising for New
York Magazine, has been promoted to the position of advertising manager.
    Collins, like Burstein, is a New York Magazine veteran, working as the
magazine's advertising manager, sales development manager and sales
representative from 1989-1990 and 1991-1996. In 1996, Collins left New York
Magazine to become advertising manager for Vogue, from which she moved on to
advertising director for Modern Bride. In 1998, Collins was named associate
publisher for Mademoiselle, and in 1999, associate publisher for Marie Claire.

    Risa Aronson, New York Magazine's former Director of Advertising, left the
magazine on Wednesday October 20 to become advertising director at Bon
