New Patented Polymer Is the Most Significant Development in
Automotive Graphics Since Vinyl
SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- The Graphics Fusion Company
Inc. is introducing an innovative new material, NanoStrate(TM), which will be
used in a new generation of automotive graphics transfer products as thin as a
human hair and as durable as the paint to which it is applied. The Graphics
Fusion Company will be exhibiting at the AAPEX/SEMA Show, Nov. 1-4, in the
Sands Convention Center (Booth 279).
NanoStrate is 25 microns thin, similar to a coat of paint, while die cut
vinyl decals are 7 times thicker - typically a minimum of 150 microns.
NanoStrate-based graphic transfers consist of several patented polymer layers
and inks that are released from a special, porous paper by adding water and a
catalyst.
The results are graphics solutions that combine the best attributes of
custom paint and vinyl decals with easy application and longer-lasting auto,
truck, boat and aircraft decoration.
Among the benefits of this innovative material are:
- Easier to handle and apply than vinyl or paint
- Looks and feels like paint and as smooth as the surface it's applied to
- Easy to remove with no damage to vehicle surface or underlying paint
- Superior scratch resistance - will not peel or chip
- Three-year guarantee against fading - only transfer with this promise
- Nine coloration options, including metallics
- Clear coat compatible for even better performance
- High photographic resolution and detail, including gradations
- Excellent transfer consistency from lot to lot
- Significantly lower costs for both materials and installation
"Graphics Fusion transfers based on NanoStrate are the result of
sophisticated production processes and materials, yet they will be so much
simpler to apply," explains Don Reisinger, president of The Graphics Fusion
Company.
In a factory production environment, NanoStrate-based transfers can adhere
to many surfaces - most metals, including stainless steel, glass-like
surfaces, and most plastics. Now for the first time, these transfers are
available for off-site applications and soon, for the do-it-yourself car
customizer.
The company will be introducing several do-it-yourself retail product
lines that include: repair and restoration products, "ScratchPatch"; a line of
transportation pinstripes, "PermaStripe"; as well as an impressive array of
customizing graphics, "Wild Things." These products will be available in
early 2006 in major auto retail and mass market outlets. "Our retail product
lines will not only be lower-cost for customers but will provide higher
margins for the retailer as well," Reisinger explains.
Commercially, fleet owners and operators will be able to specify total
graphic appearance for the first time, including detailed photographic images,
elaborate contours and sizes for a wide number of commercial transportation
applications.
Graphics Fusion has established several channels of distribution for its
NanoStrate-based products.
"While the automotive category offers significant opportunities for our
technology, we're already being approached by companies in consumer products
and home improvement industries that recognize the impact of our technology on
the perceived value of their products," Reisinger concludes. "These products
weren't possible prior to our entry to the market."
Graphics Fusion is currently in talks with several national auto body
chains to offer the products in their auto collision and detail businesses as
well as to provide the customized product to corporate customers.
The Graphics Fusion Company, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, was
formed in 2005 to commercialize the materials and products in North America
developed by UGT Holdings in Hong Kong. The patented polymer material,
NanoStrate(TM), has significant application in the transportation, home
improvement and consumer industries and will be sold through OEM and retail
channels. For more information, please visit http://www.graphicsfusion.com.
