NEW YORK, Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- TD Waterhouse Group, Inc.
(NYSE: TWE; TSE), the global online financial services firm, reports total
trades per day of 152,600 in the third calendar quarter of 2000, up 45.5% over
the same period last year. Online trades represented 73% of the total,
reflecting a year-over-year growth in online trades of 60.5%. TD Waterhouse
also recently celebrated the opening of its one-millionth new customer account
this fiscal year. The firm's fiscal year-end is October 31.
Total customer accounts grew 48.2% to 4.3 million, of which 2.2 million
are online accounts. In addition, the firm achieved a cost per new account of
$129 vs. $118 for the year-ago quarter. Assets in customer accounts grew 40.3%
to $164.9 billion, with assets in online accounts totaling $114.4 billion, an
82.5% increase over the same period last year.
