'How to Do It Yourself or Find the Right Publisher'
ROYAL OAK, Mich., Oct. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- For many new authors, publishing
a book can prove to be more difficult than writing it. "The Secret Art of
Book Publishing - How to Do It Yourself or Find the Right Publisher" is the
topic of next month's Women in Communications program on Tuesday, November 15,
2005 at the Troy Museum, 60 Wattles, at 6 p.m.
Joni Hubred-Golden, Publisher of "Michigan Women's Forum," an on-line
magazine for women, will discuss how she self-published her book, "One Woman -
Memoir and Manifesto." She will be joined by author Nathan Southern, who
spent three years writing a retrospective on the films of Louis Malle, famed
French director and husband to actress Candice Bergen. He will discuss how to
choose the right publisher for your work and share highlights of his
interviews with Susan Sarandon and Ed Harris.
The cost is $20 for Women in Communications members and students, $30 for
non-members. This is a great opportunity to learn about the world of
publishing first-hand. Deadline for reservations is November 10. For more
information or to make reservations, call 248-652-1460.
