WILKES-BARRE, Pa., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Pennsylvania Enterprises, Inc.
(PEI) (NYSE: PNT) today announced a 30 cent-per-share dividend on its common
stock for the fourth quarter of 1998. PG Energy Inc., the natural gas
subsidiary of PEI, also declared dividends for the fourth quarter on the 4.10%
and 5.75% series of its preferred stock. Both the PEI and PG Energy dividends
declared are payable December 15 to shareholders of record on December 1.
PG Energy also announced today that it is calling its 9% Depository
Preferred Shares for redemption on December 1. Those shares will be redeemed
at the optional redemption price of $26 per share plus accrued dividends to
the redemption date of 46.9780 cents per share.
PEI is a holding company with regulated and non-regulated subsidiaries.
The regulated group consists of PG Energy and its subsidiary, Honesdale Gas
Company, which together deliver natural gas to about 150,000 customers in 13
counties in northeastern and central Pennsylvania. The non-regulated group
consists of PEI Power Corporation, Theta Land Corporation and PG Energy
Services and its subsidiary, Keystone Pipeline Services, Inc.
