Max Knopf founded M&M Knopf in 1948 as one of the pioneers in core
processing and recycling. The Knopf brothers, Woody and Marshall, have owned
and managed the business for the past 30 years, growing and expanding their
customer base with a diversified line of cores and other aftermarket
automotive products, as well as distributing OEM products to a large group of
manufacturers, for markets throughout the world. Remy purchased the company
in 2000.
Mr. Wilkie has served Remy in several senior executive financial and
business-development roles for the past 10 years. Before joining the company,
he was Controller for Ameron International and held positions of increasing
responsibility with GenCorp/General Tire over a 16 year period. In his new
assignment, Al will be responsible for continuing the market leadership of the
M&M Knopf organization and further integrating the marketing and distribution
capabilities with Remy to maintain the company's status as the world's largest
core supplier.
