SUNNYVALE, Calif., Oct. 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Biocircuits Corporation
(Nasdaq: BIOC) announced today the availability of a new test cartridge for
use on the IOS(R) system that combines the T4 test with the TSH test.  The two
tests are often used in combination for diagnosing Thyroid dysfunction.  The
new cartridge is in addition to the FTI (T4 & T Uptake), TSH and quantitative
hCG cartridges currently available.
    "Expansion of the test menu is critical to achieving success with our new
marketing partner, Becton Dickinson," said John Kaiser, President and CEO.
"We launched the third cartridge, Quantitative hCG a few days ago so we now
have a total of four cartridges available and we plan to file 510(k's) for
three new tests over the next six months, including Digoxin, Free T4 and PSA,"
stated Mr. Kaiser.
    The IOS system is the first easy to use and economical system for
performing immunoassays in lower volume sites such as the physician office.
Although approximately 36,000 sites currently have the requisite moderately
complex license for performing such tests, most send the testing out to large
laboratories.
