DALLAS, March 7 /PRNewswire/ -- Fleming (NYSE: FLM) announced today that
the company has promoted Carlos M. Hernandez to the position of Senior Vice
President, General Counsel and Secretary, effective immediately. He will
report to Chairman and CEO Mark Hansen.
"Carlos has a proven track record that will make for a seamless transition
into his new role," said Mark Hansen, Chairman and CEO of Fleming. "We are
excited about his leadership and experience that will contribute to the growth
of Fleming."

Hernandez joined Fleming in March of 2000 as Associate General Counsel and
Assistant Secretary. Prior to joining Fleming, he was employed by Armco Inc.
as Assistant General Counsel. He graduated with a BS in Civil Engineering
from Purdue University and received his Juris Doctor from the University of
Miami School of Law.
In a related announcement, Lenore Graham, Senior Vice President, General
Counsel and Secretary has announced her desire to spend more time with her
family. Graham will assist in the transition of General Counsel and Secretary
responsibilities to Hernandez.

Fleming. Her contributions will continue to be realized through her attention
to succession planning by preparing Carlos for his new position."
