Gaming Standards Association to Hold Engineer Certification Program Demo During Global Gaming Expo

LAS VEGAS, Oct. 29 /PRNewswire/ -- The Gaming Standards Association
recently held its first two Certified G2S Engineer Programs at the
University of Nevada, Las Vegas, graduating 15 engineers. Now, GSA will
present "An Introduction to the Certified G2S Engineer Program" during the
upcoming Global Gaming Expo.
    The seminar takes place November 14 at the Las Vegas Convention Center;
Room - N219. Presenting are Chuck Berg, GSA Affiliate Professor of Gaming
Technology at the UNLV International Gaming Institute and Russ Ristine,
Vice President of Radical Blue Gaming, Inc.
The seminar will give an overview of the three-week Certified G2S
Engineer Program. The session begins with a presentation on GSA's
Game-to-System (G2S) protocol and its machine and communication models.
That is followed by a live demonstration of a working G2S-compliant EGM,
including a demonstration of the EGM discovery process, and by monetary
transactions and game play activities that generate events and meter
updates of interest to a number of different back-office system hosts.
Jointly developed by UNLV and GSA, the Certified G2S Engineer Program
is part of a comprehensive training and certification program designed to
accelerate the implementation and adoption of GSA standards throughout the
gaming industry. The program is targeted at development engineers, quality
assurance and compliance test engineers, engineering managers, and
operations engineers working for game and systems equipment manufacturers,
casino properties, regulators, and independent labs.
