Fleming Responds to National Emergency With Relief Plan

DALLAS, Sept. 11 /PRNewswire/ -- Fleming (NYSE: FLM) announced today that
it has established an emergency relief plan following today's attacks in New
York City and Washington, D.C. The plan encompasses associate activities as
well as community efforts. The company has designated The American Red Cross
as its principle relief agency for all corporate activities.
Company associate activities will focus on blood donations, volunteering,
monetary and in-kind contributions. Fleming will also match associates'
financial contributions to the Red Cross. "Our associates have demonstrated
time and again their commitment to serving their communities in times of
need," said Mark Hansen, chairman of the board and chief executive officer of

initiatives to support the Red Cross."
Additionally, Fleming announced that its company-owned stores will be
accepting customer donations for the American Red Cross' relief operations.
Customers at Fleming's company-owned stores -- including Food4Less in northern
and central California, Arizona and Utah; Rainbow Stores in Minneapolis, MN,
Wausau, WI, El Paso, TX, and Las Cruces, NM; and Yes!Less in North Texas and
Louisiana -- can make donations at the check-out registers. Contributions can
be made with checks, cash, or credit, where available. Customers can see
stores for details.
"Our first concern is for the victims and their families during this time
of tragedy," said Hansen. "It is our hope that Fleming's coordinated efforts
to support The American Red Cross will make a meaningful contribution to their
relief activities."
