WASHINGTON, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- Raytheon Company has appointed Sue
Baumgarten to the position of President, Raytheon International, Inc. She
replaces Hansel Tookes who has announced his retirement.
Working from Raytheon's corporate offices in Washington, Baumgarten will
lead company efforts to capture new international business, enhance
international customer relations, build a greater global presence, and
coordinate operations of Raytheon's international companies. Raytheon today
does business in more than 70 countries and has offices in more than 20
international locations. International sales account for about 20 percent of
Raytheon's annual sales of $16.8 billion. Baumgarten reports directly to Tom
Culligan, Executive Vice President, Business Development, and Chairman/CEO of
Raytheon International, Inc.
Prior to her new assignment, Baumgarten was Vice President, Strategy and
Business Development for the former Raytheon Electronic Systems business in El
Segundo, Calif. Previously she organized Raytheon's Surveillance and
Reconnaissance Systems business unit and served as the unit's Vice President.
Baumgarten has more than 25 years of experience in system engineering,
business development, and business unit leadership at Raytheon and the former
Hughes Aircraft Company.
A native of Los Angeles, Baumgarten received a bachelor's degree in
math/biochemistry, a master's degree in electrical engineering, and an MBA in
finance/marketing - all from UCLA. She was a Hughes Fellow and received the
UCLA Anderson School's Carter Award.
