Companies that offer single services are losing customers to multi-play
service providers in this rapidly emerging marketplace. The number of
subscribers to IPTV services worldwide is expected to double annually
through 2009 to 68.9 million, with revenue growing from $12 billion to $37
billion in the same period, according to Infonetics Research, Inc. (IPTV
Equipment, Services, and Subscribers, 2006).
