As one of America's most popular minivans, the 2008 Chrysler Town &
Country may be more readily associated with carting groceries and running
errands. However, there is nothing typical about the Black Jack. Inspired
by the dark allure of a Las Vegas casino and the red and burnt orange
undertones of a Vegas sunset, A-listers and high rollers will feel
red-carpet ready when stepping out in the gleaming Black Jack.
The fashionable black exterior readily exudes the decadence of Las
Vegas. This VIP-touch is incorporated into the interior of the vehicle with
amber lounge illumination powered by OSRAM LED technology -revolutionary
lighting components renowned for their styling flexibility, energy
efficiency, unlimited color options and high reliability.
"The Chrysler Town & Country Black Jack provides ample interior room
for a Vegas-style blackjack table, customized with OSRAM's signature LED
technology," said Tom Shottes, president and CEO of OSRAM Opto
Semiconductors, Inc. "The versatility of LEDs offers unprecedented
precision in ambient lighting and supports the styling detail of Chrysler's
user-friendly interior."
OSRAM LED Systems and component technology provides the Black Jack with
the sleek sophistication of a VIP lounge. OSRAM's amber-colored DRAGON
Pucks and LINEARlight COLORMIX FLEX with Advanced Power TOPLED(R)s
illuminate the blackjack table installed in this vehicle. LINEARlight
COLORMIX FLEX strips provide illumination flexibility for lighting curved,
bent or other challenging surfaces. OSRAM LINEARlight COLORMIX FLEX
Advanced were also used to illuminate the ceiling center console, providing
accent illumination.
The amber color and soft mood lighting complement the rich black
leather interior and ultra-suede headliner. The ambience created is the
ideal mobile party-lounge for any hipster out on the town with friends.
The floor of the Black Jack shines with white DRAGON Sticks featuring
OSRAMs Golden DRAGON LEDS and is also bathed in an amber glow with
Backlights featuring Power TOPLED(R)s.
"The lounge trends in Las Vegas, combined with the application of
premium materials in this vehicle, create the Vegas-mood we were aiming
for," said Abhinand Lath, president of Sensitile. "It was exciting to have
an innovative Detroit-based company like Sensitile team up with Chrysler's
designers to push the limits of a functional and practical vehicle and
dress it up for a night out on the town."
The fully-functional Black Jack was created and designed by Chrysler's
Mopar Underground SEMA design team, a group of in-house automotive
enthusiasts who donate their time to the SEMA project vehicles. The Mopar
Underground is overseen by Ralph Gilles, Vice President of Jeep/Truck & CFM
Design, Chrysler LLC. Mopar Underground has been customizing Chrysler,
Jeep(R) and Dodge production vehicles for the SEMA show since its creation
in 2002. The team creates tricked, tuned and customized vehicle concepts
meant to develop performance parts, accessories, customization and keep the
Mopar spirit and passion alive.
The Black Jack will tour events throughout the auto show season.
