Emageon to Demonstrate New Product Developments at RSNA

BIRMINGHAM, Ala., Oct. 31 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Emageon Inc.
(Nasdaq: EMAG), a leader in enterprise medical information technology
systems for hospitals and healthcare networks announced today that it will
demonstrate new product developments in its booth # 6530 at the
Radiological Society of North America Annual Meeting in Chicago, Nov.
26-Dec. 1, 2006.
Following soon after the roll-out of its new Enterprise Visual Medical
System(TM) (EVMS) System Release 5.30, Emageon has added the following new
features:
     - Technologist QC - A native quality control tool that runs in the EVMS
Advanced Visualization environment, providing a streamlined process and
enabling users to correct errors before interpretation occurs. From
any secure workstation located inside or outside the enterprise, a user
can edit demographics, merge patients or studies, split studies,
renumber images, match on Modality Worklist (MWL), correct images and
more - a valuable enhancement to an already robust distributed
       environment.

     - Personal Content Management (PCM) - A tool that goes beyond traditional
"teleradiology" in that the entire user environment is distributed
throughout the enterprise rather than just the images. Users can
subscribe to folders to initiate streaming of studies from selected
folders, avoiding problems associated with "push-model" found in many
systems. PCM stores encrypted versions of the retrieved studies
locally, improving performance of the remote user's experience. This
allows for simpler remote reading and, coupled with the folder based
architecture, provides a useful tool for on-call reading, at-home
reading and reading at remote/referring clinics. PCM is an addition to
the already "engineered-for-speed" integrated workflow that EVMS
       provides.

     - Enhanced Web Admin - A comprehensive toolset for PACS Administrators,
Radiology IT and Radiology Directors. It offers a wealth of data
mining capabilities with reports, configuration tools, audit logs,
policy-based deletion settings, and more. The admin tool provides a
simple but powerful user interface that anyone can operate from any
secure workstation inside or outside the enterprise.
"These most recent updates to Emageon's EVMS System Release 5.30
represent many months of development by our engineering team in response to
customer requests," said Dave Holland, Emageon's Vice President of Product
Management. "Emageon prides itself in providing value to its customers and
being responsive to their on-going needs and suggestions for better patient
care and service to physicians. We invite industry professionals to see
these and other products demonstrated at RSNA this year."
