RICHMOND, Va., Oct. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- Fort James Corporation today
announced the completion of the tender offers and consent solicitations
relating to certain outstanding debt securities of its wholly-owned
subsidiary, Fort Howard Corporation. The offers to purchase, announced on
September 8, 1997, expired at 12:00 midnight, New York City time, on October
3, 1997. All debt securities validly tendered in the offer have been
accepted. The amount tendered and accepted for purchase represents an average
success rate of 87.2 percent.
For debt securities already received, payment of the tender offer price,
the consent payment, if applicable, and accrued and unpaid interest will be
made on October 8, 1997. Payments for debt securities received subsequently
(under guarantees of delivery) will be made after such receipt.
