WILMINGTON, Del., April 29 /PRNewswire/ -- MONEY ACCESS SERVICE INC.
announced that its MAC(R) electronic funds transfer (EFT) network took a
historic leap in March by processing in excess of 100 million switch
transactions in a month for the first time in the company's history.  The MAC
network is the largest EFT network in the United States based on switch
transactions and is the only network to have processed over 100 million
transactions in one month's time.
    The MAC network attributes this jump in transaction volume to the growing
popularity of point-of-sale debit, continued deployment of ATMs in the
marketplace and the willingness of consumers to use off-line debit to replace
cash and checks for payment.
    "We continue to expand the MAC brand and currently have a national
presence with 46 states," said John Beahn, executive vice president and chief
marketing officer.  "On average the MAC network processed 39 switch
transactions per second during the month of March.  To process 103 million
transactions in the time frame of one month is an historic event for our
