LAS VEGAS, Oct. 30 /PRNewswire/ -- ASC Incorporated and Inalfa have signed
a letter of intent to merge their aftermarket operations. Larry Doyle,
president and CEO of ASC, and Fred Welschen, chairman of Inalfa Industries,
made the announcement. The new organization will be finalized and operational
early in 2002, creating the second largest aftermarket sunroof supplier
worldwide.
The new organization will combine the strong aftermarket service
organization, brand network and national distribution network of ASC with
Inalfa's global technical resources, expertise in product development and
aftermarket presence. "Our partnership with Inalfa will result in a
comprehensive range of sunroofs, aftermarket accessory products and services,"
Doyle said. "Together we will set the new standard for service and selection
in the aftermarket."
"This is a winning combination for dealers and consumers," said Welschen.
"Inalfa offers a worldwide technical base for product development, while ASC,
with its American Sunroof Company brand, has one of the best-known names in
aftermarket sunroofs. The combined companies' abilities to offer a broad range
of sunroof and accessory products, together with their reputation for service
and long history in this business, makes for a highly desirable partnership."
"Both partners view the merger of our aftermarket groups as the best way
to serve our customers and grow our aftermarket business," said Doyle.
ASC's aftermarket products group develops and distributes in-built and
spoiler sunroofs and mobile video systems through a network of 180 licensees
in the U.S. and Canada. ASC offers the most sophisticated online support
program in the sunroof industry, along with comprehensive training of
licensees through its Standardization and Master Technician programs.
