Startech Environmental Announces First Commercial Sale in Australia

Startech Receives $250,000 Down Payment from Plastech Solutions for
First-of-its-kind Plasma Converter System in Sydney, Australia

WILTON, Conn., Nov. 1 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Startech Environmental
Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: STHK), announced today that it has received
an initial $250,000 down payment from Plastech Solutions, Ltd. of New South
Wales, Australia, for the purchase of its first Plasma Converter System.
Plastech, Startech's exclusive distributor for Australia and New Zealand, will
use the 10 ton-per-day System to safely and irreversibly destroy hazardous and
troublesome wastes and convert their elemental components into valuable
commodities.
The facility housing the first-of-its-kind System in Australia will also
serve as Plastech's Demonstration and Technical Center to support its Startech
marketing and sales activities throughout the entire region. This $250,000
equipment down payment is in addition to the $250,000 previously paid to
Startech for the Plastech distributorship.
George Hatzimihalis, CEO of Plastech Solutions, said, "The installation of
our first Plasma Converter will be completed by November, 2005. Plastech is
proud to be playing an important role, as stewards of the environment, in
protecting Australia's and New Zealand's atmosphere, and proud to be helping
to improve the environmental performance of the region's industry. Our
partnership with Startech will make a measurable contribution to the region's
health, cleanliness, and especially to its positive sustainable development."
Startech's VP of Sales Steven Landa, said, "It is important to note that
the Plasma Converter System is a recognized recycling technology. When
processing wastes in the System, materials become commercial feedstocks, even
though they may once have been regarded as wastes. The 10 ton-per-day Plasma
Converter System in Sydney will play a significant role in protecting the
environment in Australia and New Zealand and improving the region's health and
safety."
